Smilegate, the South Korean developer of the world’s top first-person shooter game Crossfire, on Monday unveiled a teaser for an upcoming role-playing game (RPG) Chaos Zero Nightmare with a target of the global launch excluding China in the second half.
Chaos Zero Nightmare is under development by Kim Hyung-seok, co-CEO of Super Creative, who developed a global hit mobile RPG Epic Seven. Super Creative is Smilegate's subsidiary.
Chaos Zero Nightmare is set to offer a new playing method, which combines 2D production technologies proven at Epic Seven and features of a roguelike style of RPG traditionally characterized by a dungeon crawl through procedurally generated levels, turn-based gameplay, grid-based movement and permanent death of the player's character.
Smilegate plans to release a teaser introducing the various characters in the game next month.
